Your Questions. Our Answers.

We love demystifying the barre experience. Here’s a list of questions we answer on a regular basis. Don’t see what you’re looking for? Contact the studio.

How soon will I see results?

It depends on your technique and how frequently you come to class but most people feel results after 4-6 visits and see results in 8-10 classes. For optimal results, we recommend taking class 3-4 times per week.

Can I do barre if I'm pregnant?

Everyone’s pregnancy is different so only your doctor can answer that with certainty.

That said, most women who have any baseline fitness level can practice barre whilst pregnant. Barre is easily modified for growing bellies and the low-impact intensity prepares a woman’s body and mind for labour like few other workouts can.

If you were taking Fit Barre classes regularly before conception, the workout will continue to be a safe and effective option over the course of your pregnancy. (PS. Congratulations!)

Please advise our instructors if you are pregnant. We care about your baby too so we’ll walk you through any necessary modifications to suit your pregnancy needs. As with any exercise program, if at any point you begin to feel uncomfortable, faint, or dizzy, please stop immediately and consult a physician.

Is registering before a class an absolute must?

Not necessarily but we highly recommend it. If you show up unannounced and the class is packed, we won’t be able to accommodate you. The easiest solution? Download our app. You’ll be able to snag a spot from the palm of your hand and avoid disappointment.

What happens if I register for a class but have to cancel?

You can cancel in seconds directly from the app. We ask members to respect each other’s time by canceling reservations in a timely manner. For the record, we define “timely manner” as four hours before class starts or 10pm the night before all 6am and 7:05am weekday mornings and all weekend classes. This allows members on the waitlist adequate time to make plans. It also prevents last-minute class cancellations due to low attendance.

Is there a late-cancellation fee?

Yes. This is a standard practice among studios with limited space for members. It helps foster personal integrity and keep the business operating smoothly. If you cancel with less than three hours before class (or after 10pm the night before a 6-6:30am class) you will incur a fee. Members with Class Passes will be deducted one class. Members with unlimited classes will be charged a $10 fee.

What happens if I unexpectedly can’t make a class?

We totally understand that sometimes things are completely out of your control. Babysitter woes, car troubles, food poisoning—we’ve all been there. Contact the studio if you’re in a bind. We’re reasonable.

Do you have showers?

You bet. We have three showers and a change room. If you have to dash for work after class, we’ve got you covered.

What’s the status with parking?

There is street parking along Main st. and Walnut St and it is free on weekends before 8:30am and after 5pm on weekdays. There are two city lots within 100m of the building that are $1.00 per hour for parking.
